Wildlife Tiger Safari at Ranthambore National Park

India is blessed with huge wild life diversity and to protect this natural wealth, several National Parks were established by the Indian government across India.Among these Parks, Ranthambore National Park (Ranthambhore National Park or simply Ranthambhore) is one of the largest National Parks in India. Established in the year 1955 by the government of India as a game sanctuary, it became a tiger reserve in 1973 under the Government of India’s Project Tiger campaign and was declared a National Park in 1980.

Ranthambore is famous for its tiger population because it is also a tiger reserve and this reason makes it an ideal place to have a tiger safari tour in India. These big bad cats can be spotted moving freely or basking themselves under the sun during the day time in the Park. The tiger safari usually lasts for about 3 hours and usually people take more then one safari trip if tigers are not spotted during the first trip. The timing of the safari is half an hour past six (6.30 am) in the morning and half an hour past two (2.30 or 14.30 pm) in the afternoon. The trip is usually made in two different group categories, the bigger group of 20 people and smaller group of 6 people with vehicles open top canter and open top gypsy respectively.

The best time to have a visit at Ranthambore National Park would be in the month of November and May when the forest trees shed there leaves seasonally and the sighting becomes easier. Beside tigers there are lots of things to see in this National Park like Ranthambore Fort, several lakes and other wild animals like leopard, wild bore, hyena etc and the Flora of the Park is represented by 539 species of flowering plants. A safari trip here will certainly increase your affection towards the tigers and Mother Nature.
